Tony makes the dough. Every day.

Tony cooked at La Donna before this. Years of Italian kitchens in Chicago, learning the city the way you learn a second language: slowly, then all at once.

In 2019 he opened Anto on Jarvis Ave, a block from the Red Line. Neapolitan thin crust and Roman thick crust pizza. Pasta rolled that morning. A paper cone, because he thought it would be funny, and then people started driving in for it.

Nothing here arrives frozen. We make it, we plate it, we bring it out ourselves. That is the whole philosophy, and it has not changed since day one.

Ingredients imported from Italy. We use cheeses, tomatoes, sauces and flour imported from Italy.

“This is literally my favorite restaurant in Chicago. The food quality is always consistent and tasty. It has an authentic Italian taste, flavor and atmosphere. My favorite is the fettuccine pasta and marg pizza. I literally had my wedding party here and it was absolutely amazing. Tony, the owner, is the best.”

“Solid Italian American restaurant that won't break the bank. The outside patio al fresco dining is delightful in the warm months. Place is BYOB. Right next door to the Jarvis Red Line stop.”

“First time at Anto Pizza and Pasta and we loved it. The owners are so friendly and welcoming… We had the homemade lemon linguine, homemade tortellini vodka, spaghetti, arancini, and hand cut fries. Each was freshly prepared and tasted amazing. I love the idea of the pasta in a cone.”

“This was delicious, the pasta was tasty, everything was well seasoned even though parts of the focaccia burnt up a bit. I think it's a little overpriced if you just order pasta, sharing a pizza might be the best choice pricewise but it's a good solid choice.”
